Created for the #TRIBE16 Arts Festival in October 2016, I knew this piece was going to be different. My previous works were built into their exhibition spaces whereas this one had to be finished before it was transported to London. So with a sense of uncertainty, I started to build.

 

What emerged was a single, writhing column. This was the first piece I’d created without recording the time it took to build; the progress images are below.
